A half day long online roundtable discussion was held at the Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management (BIBM) on 26 November, 2020. S.M. Moniruzzaman, Chairman of BIBM Executive Committee and Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank was present in the program as the chief guest. Dr.Md. Akhtaruzzaman, Director General of BIBM Chaired the Program. Dr. Ashraf Al Mamun, Associate Professor and Director (Research, Development & Consultancy) of BIBM delivered welcome speech.
A paper titled “Infrastructure Lending by Banks: Corporate vs. Project Financing Approach” was presented in the Roundtable Discussion by Dr. Prashanta Kumar Banerjee, Professor of BIBM. Other members of the team are Dr. Md. Mosharref Hossain, Associate Professor of BIBM; Md. Ruhul Amin,Assistant Professor of BIBM; Maksuda Khatun, Lecturer of BIBM; Rathin Kumar Paul, Deputy General Manager of Bangladesh Bank and Deputy Project Director of IPFF-II Project.
Professor Barkat-e-Khuda, Dr.Muzaffer Ahmed Chair Professor of BIBM; Dr. Abul Kalam Azad, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank and Project Director of IPFF-II Project; Mohammad Shams-Ul Islam, Managing Director & CEO of Agrani Bank Ltd; Emranul Huq, Managing Director & CEO of Dhaka Bank Ltd; Mahmood Malik, Executive Director & CEO of Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL); A.K.M. Abdullah, Senior Financial Sector Specialist, South Asia Finance and Private Sector of The World Bank made comments on the seminar paper as designated discussants.
A good number of participants including senior bank executives, academicians, media representatives, faculty members of BIBM took part in the roundtable discussion.
